Photographer Stian Rekdal combined thousands of photos to create this time-lapse video showcasing Iceland's natural beauty. He spent three weeks—and more than 3,000 miles—on the road and took more than 40,000 photos. He used about 3,500 of these to make the video. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. In 2017 I visited a horse muster in rural Iceland - a tradition that has continued for generations. The community come together to bring the beautiful indigenous horses down from the mountains, and muster them back to farms. It was an amazing experience - a truly local tradition, that is not made for tourists. In 2018 I am taking a small group along to witness this annual event, as well as photographing the best nature & wildlife that Iceland has to offer. You can join me! Check out the full trip itinerary and reserve your place at http://www.mattgranger.com/iceland Please note that as this video goes live, 6 of the 12 spots are already filled.
One night is not enough in this hotel! I can definitely see it's called the 5 Million Star hotel :) I was literally living inside my own bubble with only a thin, clear barrier separating me from the trees, wind, wildlife and Northern Lights. Ahhhh that’s my kind of luxury adventure if I’ve ever seen one. Want more unique hotels I've stayed in around the world? We are two filmmakers studying Audiovisual Media at the Stuttgart Media University in Germany. For our semester filmproject we have been fortunate enough to spend 14 days filming in Iceland. Our desire was to capture that stunning landscape and wildlife to take you on a journey through this magical island. This film wouldn´t exist without the magnificent help and support of our sponsors, our university and a lot of other people who took part and helped us in any kind of way. Thank you, guys! Here's a video project that features amazing landscapes and wildlife I saw while traveling around Iceland in October 2015. I tried really hard to capture the true diversity of the country, which is unlike any other in the world. For more of my work, check out www.paulweeksphotography.com. Locations include: East Fjords, Porsmork, Landmannalaugar, Husavik, Dettifoss, Selfoss, Stokksnes, Jokulsarlon, Vatnajokull, and Haifoss. Cheers!
Every summer the young horses of Iceland roam the northern mountains freely. Many farmers believe this is what creates their strong personalities and sturdiness. In the autumn, farmers, neighbors, and family members follow the tradition of göngur, herding the horses home. ➡ Subscribe: http://bit.ly/NatGeoSubscribe About National Geographic: National Geographic is the world's premium destination for science, exploration, and adventure. This video is dedicated to the arctic fox in Iceland, the only native mammalian animal in Iceland. It deserves to become an icon of Iceland with a much better support and protection. (A) PLEASE click on the "I like this:, thumbs up icon below the video, but only if you agree with the need for a better protection, and not because you like the video. (B) and PLEASE share via social media, email, word-of-mouth with friends, family and others. T H A N K Y O U ! A widespread response only possible with your help is very important. It will hopefully lead to official management procedures and policies more beneficial to the native arctic fox, the Icelandic people, visitors to Iceland and future generations.

Animals in the Antarctic Ice The wildlife of Antarctica are extremophiles, having to adapt to the dryness, low temperatures, and high exposure common in Antartica. The extreme weather of the interior contrasts to the relatively mild conditions on the Antarctic Peninsula and the subantarctic islands, which have warmer temperatures and more liquid water. Much of the ocean around the mainland is covered by sea ice. The oceans themselves are a more stable environment for life, both in the water column and on the seabed. The Antarctic ice sheet is one of the two polar ice caps of the Earth. It covers about 98% of the Antarctic continent and is the largest single mass of ice on Earth. It covers an area of almost 14 million square km and contains 26.5 million cubic km of ice. That is, approx...
